Etta: Turned Away

If you’ve visited Jackson Square lately, you may have heard the unique sound of an antique typewriter clapping its way through the poetic interpretations of both visitors and residents of New Orleans. That poet, typically battling the heat in antique period fashion and a parasol is Etta! Through good fortune, good conversation, and eventually good friendship, I had the privilege of shooting Etta through my best efforts to channel my learnings of the female gaze. Below is a sampling of our first shoot together in my tiny 2024 Marigny studio.
